Artist Profile: George Ferreira

I reside in Berkley, Massachusetts with my wife, 3 children and Daisy, our cocker spaniel. I have been working in the powder mediums of charcoal & graphite since 2004. Being a self taught artist, I am constantly experimenting with the application of the charcoal/graphite powder mediums with the tools I use. I have always been drawn to the look and feel of black and white artwork. I consider my works more paintings than drawings. Although traditionally, when you think of charcoal & graphite you don't think painting, but as for my technique, drawing is only a small part of the finished work.
Since 2005, my work has been exhibited locally in both juried and non-juried art shows & festivals.
